John R. Hales has been added to the list of possible winners of Dungar Quality Oats Cash Prize. The Irish bred four year old filly Blue Velvet by Blue Bresil fetched a healthy price of €170,000 at the recent Goffs sale in Punchestown. This was the highest priced qualifying mare in the sale for the prize and means that Mr. Hales is now qualified as a potential winning breeder. However, the breeders of Echoing Silence are still holding the leading position overall as she achieved a phenomenal price of €479,741 last March in Tattersalls Cheltenham.
The seventh and final sale to qualify a breeder for Dungar Quality Oats cash prize will be held next Thursday 16th May at Tattersalls in Cheltenham. After this sale, we can reveal who will be the overall winner of our prize!
