Tattersalls Point to Point sale in Cheltenham on May 16th marked the final qualifying sale for National Hunt breeders to be in with a chance of winning the Dungar Quality Oats cash prize. As luck would have it, two mares qualified their breeders for entry to the competition by each fetching the highest price for a 4/5 year old mare of €58,296 (£50,000stg)!
The first mare was the four year old bay filly ‘No Flies on Her’. By ‘Soldier of Fortune’ (IRE) this filly was bred by Mr. G. Adair & Mr. M. O’Callaghan. The second mare to qualify was also a four year old filly ‘Hard Dealt’ bred by Mr. Martin Doyle by the stallion ‘Walk in the Park’ (IRE).
This now completes the sales qualifying criteria of the competition and the winner will be officially announced and presented with their prize at the final Point to Point of the season held by the Ormond Hunt in Ballingarry on Sunday 26th May. Dungar Quality Oats wishes to congratulate all the breeders who qualified for the competition and hopes that they continue to have success with their National Hunt breeding into the future.
